Getting around on foot
The Great Glen Way runs from Fort William to Inverness along the route of the Caledonian Canal offering spectacular views and historical and natural heritage to be discovered along the way. For more details visit www.greatglenway.com
Road route
The Caledonian Canal runs along the A82 from Fort William to Inverness in the heart of the Highlands.
Parking
Note there is limited parking at The Crossing events, and we recommend you make use of public transport where possible.
Banavie: There is a public car park at the foot of Neptune’s Staircase at Banavie.
Fort Augustus: Note there is no dedicated parking for the event. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport where possible, or to use Fort Augustus public parking facilities.
Muirtown Basin, Inverness: There is no on-site parking at this site. Please use city centre parking. The Crossing cannot accept liability for any damage or incidents arising from parking at this site.
